Hi, Debby here and I am taking a little break from Christmas projects to bring some watercoloured florals to you today.
The Peony Bouquet Stamp Set is one of my all time favorites and when I needed a little downtime the other day I pulled it out for some no-line watercoloring.
I stamped several of the Peony Bouquet images in a light, water reactive ink on watercolour card and watercoloured. Being water reactive, the ink blends with the watercolours as you paint to leave a no-line watercolour look.
I started by watercolouring each petal separately in a light tone and then added deeper colours to the shadow areas, for example, where petals meet or overlap. I worked my way around the flowers and leaves and as the petals dried I added further layers of richer colours of paint.
For the sentiment, I kept it simple and stamped a greeting from the Sketchy Floral Stamp Set in embossing ink on ivory card and heat embossed with Rose Gold embossing powder. I trimmed the sentiment to a skinny banner and mounted it with foam adhesive before in turn mounting the panel on a kraft card base with more foam adhesive. Finally, I added a trio of gold sequins to accent.
Thanks for joining me today and I’ll see you next time.
