Watercolour Thanks

by Erum Tasneem

Hello everyone! Happy Valentine's Day! It's Erum here today to share another floral, watercolour card with you featuring the Adore You stamp set. Sorry for not making a Valentine card, my lovey-dovey-crafty-mojo just goes away right around Valentine's. Hopefully you will like what I have to share today.

Altenew Adore You stamp set watercoloured using Gansai Tambi watercolours and Thanks die by @pr0digy0

I have used the Adore You stamp set and the Thanks die for my card today. You can use the Adore You die set too to save time and avoid all the fussy cutting.

For my card base, I used distress ink to create my background and then I added some stamping in black with the Snowing stamp set.

I stamped the flowers on watercolour cardstock with Versamark and then heat embossed them in gold. The flowers are watercoloured using Gansai Tambi watercolours in blue and purple, the leaves are done in several shades of green. I fussy cut all the elements and started layering them on different levels to give a dimensional look to my bouquet.

After I completed the arrangement, I diecut the Thanks die using the Gold Foil cardstock and placed it on the floral arrangement.

In the end I added a few gold sequins to complete the look. I hope you like it! I like how the dull grey background balances the bright florals.

That's all from my side. Much love and hugs.

This is absolutely stunning. I can imagine the time and effort that went into it, but it was worth it – the end result just blows me away! What a gorgeous colour palette. The watercolouring achieves such an intense but soft look, and the gold embossing is the perfect touch. Many congratulations on this card – truly inspiring!

So not to worry it is a beautiful creation. Thanks for sharing. I love your design, lots of thought there and love …..Happy Valentines Day

This truly is a stunning card. I have the stamp set and haven’t used it yet but as soon as I can I’m going to try something like this. I love the colors. Wish I had the Gansai Tambi watercolors but will have to make do with what I have. Purple is my oldest daughters favorite color she would love a card like this. Great inspiration. Thank you.

Reply
Erum Tasneem February 14, 2017 - 1:54 PM

Thanks Linda! It is really not necessary to have the Gansai Tambi watercolours to get this look. If you have distress inks or stains, they will work too, infact they will give a better result since they are vibrant and transparent. You can try Zigs too, I dont have them but I have seen the result and it looks so good. Have fun creating Linda!

For some reason it won’t let me send this card because it says I already said this. Where do you see this comment anywhere? I’m hoping that me saying this will let it send this and print it.
