Hi, Debby here today with a no-line watercolored card using the Build A Flower Magnolia set. When I set out to colour a flower I like to have a reference point to work with and so I enter a quick search into Google images looking for things such as the way a flower grows, colors etc. Well, today's card was totally inspired by a photo I saw on Google, which when following the link took me to this gardening website. I found the grouping of magnolia flowers popping off the rich tones of the background really inspiring.
BUILD A FLOWER MAGNOLIA
I stamped the magnolia image in a light, water reactive ink and watercolored. Being water reactive, the ink blends with the watercolors as you paint to leave a no-line watercolor look.
Once I'd watercolored the flowers, I painted around them with rich tones of green and blue for the background.
I kept the rest of the card really simple, I trimmed the panel down until it was slightly smaller than an A2 card base and stamped a sentiment from the Layered Laurel set in a black pigment ink.
I mounted the panel on a kraft card base and then accented with sequins.
Thanks for joining me today and I'll see you next time.
