Hello it’s Debby here. Before I take a look at today's card I wanted to wish you all a happy and creative 2017!
There's a new Altenew release around the corner, but have you had chance to check out the Hibiscus Bouquet and floral ink bundle yet? This is a special bundle with a yet to be released Hibiscus Bouquet stamp set. What a great opportunity to pick up this set early.
Hibiscus Bouquet
The set comes with both line and filler images, however, for this card I used only the line images. On watercolor card I stamped two of the larger blooms and one bud in Blush ink. Having got the bigger images in place I then dotted leaves around which I stamped with Frayed Leaf ink.
These light inks gave me an outline to watercolor and yet blend in beautifully with the painting to give a final soft no-line look. I finished the flowers with colored pencil details, glitter pen and white gel pen accents.
I'm always trying to fill my stash of birthday cards as these are the ones I send most of. So I picked a sentiment from the Floral Frame set and stamped it in black ink. I mounted the finished panel to kraft card and sprinkled with sequins to finish.
Thanks for joining me today and I'll see you next time :D

Thanks Celeste :D
Such a gorgeous painting, Debby…you inspire me to attempt this technique with my Altenew florals today.
Have fun painting Gloria!
Which color pencils did you use, this card is beautiful. I like the no line effect and the detail you got vary nice.
I use Faber Castell for adding details. I like how you can get a nice sharp hard point to them. If I’m coloring a whole image then I prefer Prismacolor as they are softer and easier to blend :D
I used Faber Castell pencils Carolynne. I like how you can get a nice sharp hard point to them for adding details. If I was coloring a whole image with pencils I’d use Prismacolor as I find them softer and easier to blend :D

Thanks Dasa!
My goodness your card is gorgeous!!! I would love to ‘see’ a video of your techniques. Especially ‘dotting’ around the leafs…don’t understand what you mean. Thank you for sharing this beauty!!!
Sorry I’ve not got a video for this one. Still trying to recover from the Holidays LOL. Ah the dotting around – a bad choice of language on my part. I meant that having stamped the flowers I stamped the leaves at various places around the blooms to give balance to the arrangement. Hope that makes sense!
Thank you, Debby, your explanation does make sense. Beautiful, beautiful card, colors are terrific. You are very good. Thanks for answering my question.
:D
Beautiful piece!! Where did the birthday wishes come from?
Birthday wishes was from Floral Frame ?
