Hello, everyone! It's May here today to share a watercolor card that I made using the Oriental Orchid stamp set.
If you follow me on Instagram, you may already know that I'm into watercoloring these days. I'm experimenting with all different types of watercolor paper and watercolor mediums, and I can't stop watercoloring even though I'm still not good enough to show off.
I made a video tutorial to show you how I created my card. You can watch the video here or in HD on Youtube:
How to Make a Watercolor Card using Oriental Orchid
- Stamp the outline images from Oriental Orchid with embossing ink and heat emboss them using white embossing powder.
- Watercolor the images using Peerless Watercolors and die cut them with the Oriental Orchid die set.
- Heat emboss the sentiment from Oriental Orchid with white embossing powder and ink the color using Distress Ink Twisted Citron and blending tool.
- Die cut the frame out of white cardstock using Scallop Frame die and adhere it on the card front using foam tape.
- Adhere the flower die cuts around bottom of the frame using foam tape and glue dots.
- Finish off the card with Sparkling Clear sequins.
Clockwise from top left: White Colored Orchid, Clean and Simple Card, Multi Layered Stamping, Stamped Background
By the way, these are some of my cards that I've created using the Oriental Orchid Korean stamp set. If you want more details of a particular card, just click on the link to go to the original post.
I really love how my card turned out. I'm not a fan of color purple, but watercoloring seems to make everything right. :)
That’s all I have for today! I hope you enjoyed seeing my watercolor card and got some inspiration. Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy crafting!

May, you don’t give yourself enough credit. Your card is beautiful, not sure why you say your water coloring isn’t good enough to show because that simply isn’t true. I love what you did and I thinking it’s very beautiful. Keep doing what you love and don’t be so hard on yourself.
Thank you so much for your encouragement, Tess. Yes, that’s the problem that I’m so hard on myself. :( But your sweet words make me feel more confident with my watercoloring.
A whole lot of inspiration, May – always!!!

Thank you, Michele!
Beautiful!
Thank you, Amanda!
I have no idea why May thinks she’s not good with watercolors yet. She’ s not just good, she’s excellent. This card is proof of that…it’s spectacular. Wonderful video, as well.
It’s true that I’m not good at watercoloring yet, but I’m glad that I’m trying at least. Thank you for your sweet comment, Conil. I needed that!!!
Your card is beautiful. The orchids are exceptional…..lovely.
Thank you so much, Harriet!
Oh May, this card is so lovely. you watercolor so so well. i loved watching you arrange the flowers. You make it look so easy when you mask off the middle of the card. I was wondering if you could tell me what the little tray is, with the pad in it, that you use to pour your sequins in. i would love to get one. hugs, treen
Thank you for your sweet words, Katrine. The tray is not special. I just put a sheet of paper inside the plastic tray. That’s it! :)
thanks so much for getting back to me, May. i really wanted to buy that little tray. ha ha ha
hugs, treen
Oh wow May, this card is just stunning!!! And I have to ask, is that little smiley face on your right hand a tattoo or do you just draw that on for every video?
Your question is the proof that you watched my video! :) Yes, I draw the smiley face on my hand using a eyeliner. Hehe…
Love your awesome card! Thanks for the great video!!
Thank you for watching, Leanne!
