Happy Sunday!
I have a super messy and a very easy card to share with you today using Peony Dream 3D Die Set. At the end of the post, I have a video tutorial on how to make this card.
To begin, I die cut the larger of the two flowers from Peony Dream 3D Die Set and one leafy branch from the Rose Flurries 3D Die Set. These were cut out of regular cardstock instead of watercolor paper because I wanted a lot of texture and a non-uniform watercolor look. If you are looking for a cleaner watercolor look then I would suggest you use watercolor paper instead.
I used Purple and Magenta for the top layer of the flower and for the bottom layer I used Pink. I also inked the edges of the top flower layer with distress ink.
For the leaves, I used a mix of yellows and greens. You can watch the entire watercoloring process in the video, it will be very helpful.
Again, for the background, I went with a grungy look. I started with light color washes to which I added splatters of the same color but in different concentrations. To this, I added minty green color for a bit of interest.
I added black paint splatters as soon as my background was dry. After this, I started arranging my floral arrangement. At this point, I realized I needed more elements to make my bouquet appear fuller. Therefore, I die cut several floral clusters and colored them in pink, purple, orange and yellow. Then, I stamped the sentiment from Pattern Play: Circles Stamp Set and popped it on the card front with foam tape.
In the end, I added iridescent sequins and confetti for sparkle.
That is all for today. I hope you enjoy the video.
Have a great day!

Woooo Hooooo. I have this die set, the peony one I mean. LOVE how you’ve changed the whole look of it just by not using some of the shapes and watercolouring it and the background. The end result is stunning. Such a beautiful card. Thanks so much for the wonderful idea. Must make a couple of these. This is why we need you fabulous designers! Thanks so much.
Thank you Bev ♥
It’s absolutely gorgeous E.T.! I looove the colors and the messy technique. This messy technique might work in my favor, I struggle with watercolor. These flower dies made it to the top of my wish list. Thanks for sharing, inspiring and enabling, lol.

Erum! Fabulous card–such beautiful colors! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let Altenew know I have been checking back for weeks for this particular die set: 3D Peony Dream Die Set (as well as the 3D Rose die set). Are they not going to get them back in? It was a recent release–I hope they do. Thank you!
Hi Karen, thank you. When I made the card the die set was back in stock. I guess it was sold out fast. You should definitely enter your email and sign up to receive an email whenever it is back in stock (so you don’t miss it again).
