Hello, everyone and happy Friday! It's Lydia here and today I'm sharing a video that shows how to get white floral images (or anything you would like) with a super bold background.
I started with three 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ pieces of white cardstock and stamped the large image from Just Because Stamp Set onto each one using Permanent Black Ink. I then used some masking fluid and a paintbrush and covered the images and left to dry.
Once dry, I then covered each panel in a different color ink. I used Lagoon, Desert Night, and Honey Drizzle with mini blending tools to do this. When the panels were covered, I then removed the dried masking fluid, it was so easy to do – you just rub it until it goes away and then you are left with beautiful monochrome flowers on a bold colored background. There are other ways to get this effect but I found that this was so easy.
I then used the Caps Bold Alphabet Die Set to cut my sentiment into each panel.
Then it was time to put the projects together. For my first one, I added the Lagoon panel to a card base and then added the letters back in using foam tape. To make the letters pop out a little more, I covered them with a glitter pen and Glossy Accents.
With the Desert Night inked panel, I added up making two cards (I just love to get two cards from one panel!). For the first card, I adhered the panel to a card base using glue tape and for the letters, I added these to a card base using foam tape.
I made a little mistake with the Honey Drizzle panel (I didn't wait long enough for the masking fluid to dry), but I wanted to still use the letters so I added these to a scrapbook page. I do have to say that this color of letters is my favorite!
You can watch the video below or over on our YouTube Channel:
As you can see, this technique can be used on many different projects and I love how versatile it is.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you again real soon.

What a clever idea to use the acetate and using the “F”!!! I also like to add the glossy accents on my letters as well!! Really makes them POP!! I LOVED your scrapbook page the best!!! Super pretty in the Yellow Honey Drizzle!
Gorgeous cards with great definition and texture!
These are stunning! I especially love the white card with the dark blue “hello”!
Where did you find the masking fluid?
