Watercolor Ink Tutorial: 3 Elegant Floral Cards – VIDEO: Lydia’s Crafty Corner

Hello there everyone! Lydia here. Today, I'll be showing how to create an opulent watercolor background using liquid watercolor brush marker refills and the Ornate Foliage Stamp Set.

I started with a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of watercolor cardstock and stamped over the outline images from Ornate Foliage Stamp Set. I stamped the images using Embossing Ink and then heat set using Rose Gold Embossing Powder. Once this was done, I set about coloring the images using Watercolor Marker Refills as liquid watercolor. I used Purple Wine, Desert Night, and Emerald Marker Refills for the images and Lagoon Marker Refill for the background.

When this was dry, I cut this in half so I could use the two panels on separate cards. For the first one, I matted the panel onto Gold Mirror Cardstock and added a Gold Mirror Cardstock sentiment using Fancy Hello Die. For this to pop from the background, I added this onto a vellum strip. For the second card, I cut the Fancy Hello Die into the panel and added some Gold Mirror Cardstock behind the cutout. As I was then left with a beautiful die-cut sentiment, I matted this onto some Gold Mirror Cardstock and Deep Iris Cardstock to create a further card.
