Hello everyone and happy Friday! It's Lydia here. Today I'll be sharing a way you can create your own shaped cards and tags using dies. You can use this technique with all of your dies so the possibilities are endless.
Let's start!
To create the shaped card or tag, start by cutting two of the same die from whatever cardstock you wish. I chose to use white cardstock as my base, I used the Party Banner Die for my card, and one of the dies from Halftone Hearts Nesting Die Set and the Mega S Die for my tags. Once I had cut the two pieces of each, I moved one of each to the side and stamped the Gradient Stripes Stamp Set with Silver Stone Ink onto the other pieces. When I had stamped onto the front pieces I moved these to the side. I then took the blank die-cuts and scored around half an inch down from the top; this will act as a hinge. Next, I added glue above the score line and adhered the matching stamped die-cut on top. This is the shaped card or tag complete and now it's time to decorate it.
Add some decoration:
To decorate my shared card and tag, I chose the Flower Arrangement Stamp & Die Set. I stamped the flowers onto a piece of white cardstock using Frosty Pink, Coral Berry, and Ruby Red Inks for the pink flowers, Sea Glass, Ocean Waves, and Dusk Inks for the blue flowers, Sunkissed, Orange Cream, and Autumn Blaze Inks for the orange flowers, Honey Drizzle Ink for the flower centers and Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades Inks for the leaves. Once they were all stamped, I die cut them using the coordinating dies. The sentiment on the card comes from Circled Sentiments Stamp Set and was stamped in Jet Black Ink, then cut out using the coordinating die.
