VIDEO: Lydia’s Crafty Corner- Pencil Coloring On Dark Cardstock

by Lydia Evans

Hello there everyone! Lydia here. Today I'll be sharing one of my all time favorite techniques- pencil coloring on dark cardstock using Pen Sketched Flowers Stamp Set.

DSC02752

I stated by stamping two of the same image from Pen Sketched Flowers Stamp Set onto a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ panel of Navy Cardstock using Enchanted Gold Ink. Once this was done I then set to work coloring the images using colored pencils. I didn't worry too much about coloring over the lines as I was going to heat emboss these later.

Once the coloring was complete I then stamped over the images again. This time I used Embossing Ink and heat set using Rose Gold Embossing Powder. I just love the opulent look this gives. To add a little more gold I added a little splatter using Antique Gold Ink Spray.

For the sentiment I stamped a sentiment from More Than Words Stamp Set onto a strip of Vellum using Embossing Ink and heat set using Rose Gold Embossing Powder. To add even more gold, I added a thin strip of Gold Mirror Cardstock above the sentiment strip.

lovely card. The re-stamping at the end always seems to make such a great difference. Can’t think why I never remember to do it. : (
