Hello there everyone and Happy New Year! Lydia here. Today I'll be sharing a fun technique that I like to call Peek-A-Boo Masked Stencils. I'll be using Heart Flowers Stamp Set and Broken Chevrons Stencil.
So to start, I took a piece of masking paper and cut circles into it using Halftone Circles Nesting Die Set. I kept the circle masks to the side and placed the negative piece over a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ panel of Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. Then I stamped within the circles using Heart Flowers Stamp Set. I used Volcano Lake, Lagoon, Rose Quartz, Puffy Heart and Ruby Red Inks for the flowers, Fresh Leaf Ink for the leaves and Obsidian Ink for the flower centers. Once this was done, I added the circle masks over the stamped circles and removed the negative masking sheet from the card panel.
Then I added some Mango Smoothie Ink to the panel. When I had color added to the card, I placed the Broken Chevrons Stencil and added the same ink color over it. Once I was happy, I removed the circle masks. For the sentiment, I used Handwritten Hello die-cut from Vellum and Jet Black Cardstock.
For a step-by-step video to see how this was created, please watch the video below or over on YouTube:
I hope you were inspired to create your own peek-a-boo masked stencil background card! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Such a great idea! I love the look of the circle mask shape.
Very cool ideas with making tape
Clever idea! Thanks for sharing!
Great use of those nesting dies that we have in our “stash”. Finished product was very pretty. Hmmm!
The stencil finish and dual tone is a great tip for the fill.
Love the technique you showed and can’t wait to give it a go. Gorgeous card especially the color palette.
