Hello there everyone. Lydia here and today I'll be sharing with you a fun way to create a simple ombre striped background. I will also be using the Brush Alpha Die Set and Frosted Garden Stamp Set to finish it off.
To start, I took a panel of Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. For my masking, I used a piece of acetate (but you could use masking tape) because I found this easier to move and there was no chance of me ripping my cardstock. I placed the piece of acetate into place and inked Rouge Ink over it to give the stripe with a harsh line where the acetate was, and blended this out to white. I then wiped the acetate, moved it slightly over and then ink blended my next color. Keep repeating this until your whole background is covered. To get this beautiful soft rainbow, I used Rouge, Sunkissed, Citrus Burst, Firefly, Volcano Lake, Caribbean Sky, and Wisteria Inks.
After creating the background, I didn't want to take too much attention away from it so I opted for a simple sentiment and some heat-embossed floral elements. For the florals, I used Frosted Garden Stamp Set, I stamped some of the images onto a piece of Vellum using Embossing Ink and heat set them using Pure White Embossing Powder. Once these were dry, I die cut them using the coordinating die set. The sentiment was made by cutting out ‘hello' 4 times using the Brush Alpha Die Set, I cut it once from Jet Black Cardstock and 3 times from Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. I glued these together with the black die-cut pieces on top.
