Video: Lydia’s Crafty Corner- Layered Heat Embossing

by Lydia Evans

Hello everyone and a very happy Friday to you! It's Lydia here. Today I will be sharing a fun technique that allows you to use your layered stamps on dark cardstock.

DSC01665

I started with three 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ panels of cardstock in Lagoon, Navy and Jet Black. Then I stamped the first layers of the flowers from Watercolor Wonders Stamp Set using Embossing Ink and heat set using Rose Gold Embossing Powder. I used Antique Gold Embossing Powder for the second layers for the flowers and Copper Embossing Powder for the third layer of the large flower and the smaller flower centers.

For the leaves I stamped these using Embossing Ink and heat embossed them using Antique Silver Embossing Powder and added the leaf layers using Platinum Embossing Powder. I also added the center of the larger flower using Platinum Embossing Powder.

For the sentiments I used the larger ones from Floral Shadow Stamp Set. I stamped these in Embossing Ink and heat set using Antique Silver Embossing Powder to finish the look.

These are gorgeous! What a fun technique! I like them all…well maybe the navy background the best.

All three cards are beautiful but I tend to prefer the navy with the black as a close second. These metallic embossing powders really pop against the darker card, in my opinion!

Great layers with embossing powders. I love them all but think the navy is my favorite.. Thanks so much for the video and inspiration.

Wonderful designs, I hardly use metallic colours & I never know why , defiantly love the navy backgroundbackground. Thank you for fabulous inspiration.

Love this technique. I have several Altenew layering stamp sets and I can’t wait to try it. All three cards are beautiful, but if I have to pick a favorite it would be the black background.
