Hello there everyone! Lydia here. Today I'll be sharing a fun technique that allows you to create a ghosted effect. I'll be using the Watercolor Halftone Stamp Set and Live Your Dream Puffy Alpha Stickers for the sentiment.
I started by creating an ink blended edge using Cotton Candy and Coral Berry Inks. Once this was done, I stamped the garland image from Watercolor Halftone Stamp Set at the top and bottom of the panel. I used Embossing Ink and then heat set using Crystal Clear Embossing Powder. When cooled, I added over another layer of ink blending. As before, I used Cotton Candy and Coral Berry Inks but darkened the edges using Ruby Red Ink.
I then took off the embossing. To do this, place a piece of copy paper over your panel and iron over it. The embossing will then stick to the copy paper and not your panel. It's like magic! When this was done, I then stamped around the edge of the panel using the other floral elements from the stamp set using Coral Berry and Ruby Red Inks.
For the sentiment, I wanted something that would really catch the eye. So I used the Live Your Dream Puffy Alpha Stickers to create my own sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you were inspired to create a handmade card using the “ghosted effect”.

Absolutely amazing card, Lydia–LOVE this!
stunning! I love the colour and floral stamp set choice. Everything is perfect arrangement as well for depth. The glossy look of the stickers is fabulous! The results are amazing.
Lydia, this card is so lovely. The ghosting is stunning…thanks for sharing the video tutorial on this technique. Can’t wait to try it.
This techniques looks like a lot of fun to try. So glad for the video because I got lost in the embossing step. I wonder if a few runs through a laminator would work in place of the iron.
This is simply gorgeous and I love this technique! As well as ghosting, it creates a tunnel effect! I love your color choices too!
