Video: Lydia’s Crafty Corner – Flat Vellum Shaker Cards

Hello there everyone and happy Friday! It's Lydia here with you. Today I'll be sharing how you can create flat vellum shaker cards that are mail friendly.

I started with a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of acetate that I then attached one of the dies from Halftone Hearts Nesting Die Set onto using glue tape. This works as a guide that will help you create windows in the correct place on both the card panel and card base. I used this acetate/die guide to cut windows into 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock panels and into the front of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ top folding card bases.

Once all of my panels and card bases were cut, I then could add the vellum. I added tape around the heart window on the back of the panel, added a piece of vellum over, then added glue tape around the heart window again, this time taking care that the tape met all the way around so no sequins could escape. I removed the backing from this tape before adding the sequins and then folding the vellum over to trap the sequins inside. Once this was done, I could then adhere the die-cut panel into place on the card base to hide any adhesive.

To finish, I added a sweet sentiment from the Love Letters Stamp Set. I stamped these onto strips of Jet Black Cardstock and heat set them using Pure White Embossing Powder.
