Hello there everyone and happy Friday! Lydia here. Today I'll be sharing an ink resist technique using Sketchy Floral Stamp Set and Floral Drape Stencil.
Firstly, I stamped the large floral image from Sketchy Floral Stamp Set onto a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ panel of Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock using Obsidian Ink. I then placed Floral Drape Stencil around the stamped image. I colored the image using blending brushes. For the flowers, I used Pink Pearl and Coral Bliss Inks for the petals and Butternut Ink for the flower centers. For the leaves, I used Lime and Fresh Leaf Inks.
Once all the coloring was complete, I added Embossing Ink all over the ink blended images. Then I removed the stencil and added Crystal Clear Embossing Powder and heat set. This left me with beautiful glossy images that would resist any other ink. I then added a dark ink blended background using Dark Night Ink.
For the sentiment, I used Sentiment Strips Stamp Set matted onto a piece of patterned paper from Essential Black & White 6×6 Paper Pack.
To see how this came together, please watch the video below or over on YouTube:
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you were inspired to try do emboss resist through stencils!

Love the coloring! I’ll have to try the idea!!
Thanks for the video and tips for the resist technique using the stencil. Like how you kept your cool and covered up the excess embossing with a sentiment.
The card is lovely, as all of your cards are. Please tell me how you clean the blending pads….you inspired me to try them and I would like to know the proper way to clean them
