Hello there everyone! Happy Friday to you all. It's Lydia here. Today, I'll be sharing a fun technique to use your embossing powders in a different way.
I started by embossing Leafy Garland Die into a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of white cardstock. When this was done, it then left me with an embossed outline for my ‘coloring'. I then took a paintbrush and painted over the branches using Embossing Ink. You could either use ink from the Embossing Ink Pad or the Embossing Re-Inker. When I had painted the branches, I added over Copper Embossing Powder and heat set it.
Once the branches were done I then moved onto the leaves. I wanted leaves in two different colors, so I first painted a few with Embossing Ink and heat embossed them with Antique Gold Embossing Powder and then painted the remaining ones, again with Embossing Ink, and heat set these using Rose Gold Embossing Powder. When the leaves were all done, I painted the buds with Embossing Ink and heat set using Platinum Embossing Powder.
As I didn't want to take any attention away from the beautiful multi-tone embossing, I chose to add a simple sentiment. I used one of the great sentiments from Floral Shadow Stamp Set and stamped it using Permanent Black Ink.
For a video that shows the full technique please watch the video below or over on YouTube:
Thanks so much for stopping by. I'll see you again real soon!
