Now, on to our first inspiration for this video hop!

Colorful Carnations for Good Luck Cards

I have a super easy coloring technique to share with you today that I use when I have to create several cards, or I am running low on crafty mojo! I started by heat embossing the Paint-A-Flower: Carnations Outline Stamp Set on A2 Watercolor Cardstock in Antique Gold Embossing Powder.

After this, use a wet paintbrush to apply water onto the area with no pigment and move onto the pigment so that it reacts with water and blooms.

Switch between applying water to the pigment directly and then moving the brush to the edges of the petals. In this way, there will be variation among the petals or different areas of the flowers.

For the stems and leaves, I applied a little amount of Emerald Watercolor Brush Marker pigment onto the areas where I wanted to show more definition. Then, I used a wet paintbrush to spread the pigment and cover the entire area.

I thought of adding some color to the background, as well. So, using the same Emerald pigment, I started to add a diluted color wash, starting from the lower edge of the panel and moving toward the top, reducing the concentration of the pigment.

Once I was happy with the panel, I let the panel air dry. Feel free to use your heat tool. Next, add some fine black splatters. This is optional, though I added them to balance the sentiment, which I stamped at the end in Obsidian Pigment Ink. Before stamping the sentiment, I also added gold splatters from the Metallic Watercolor 14 Pan Set.
