Hi there everyone! Erum here today with another session of Creative Coloring with Erum. Today I am sharing five cards with you featuring the World Map Stamp Set and watercolored backgrounds. I used the new Winter Wonderland Watercolor Brush Markers to color a few panels then created clean and simple cards out of them.
I started by stamping several panels with the World Map Stamp Set. All the panels were heat embossed using different embossing powders. I will mention the embossing powder colors/names as we get to the projects.
The card that you see above is gorgeous! I used Antique Gold Embossing Powder to heat emboss this panel. I then scribbled Emerald, Persian Blue, and Lagoon Watercolor Brush Markers directly on the panel. Next, I sprayed this panel very generously with water. I also used a paintbrush to help cover the white spots that didn't catch the watercolor.
After this, I used a heat gun to dry the panel just a little bit then I added splatters of the watercolors that I used. As the panel started drying, the splatters became more visible increasing the grungy, textured look. In the end, I added water splatters and sopped up the excess with a tissue paper.
To build my card, I adhered the watercolor panel onto a card base. Next, I cut a banner of black cardstock and heat embossed my sentiment. I also added a thin strip of Gold Glitter Tape above the sentiment. Next to the “hello”, I adhered a die-cut Gold Foil heart with the help of the tiny stars and hearts dies that come in the New Day Card Kit. I adhered the sentiment label on the card front, but before doing that, I also added a bit of gold string for interest.
For the second panel, I started by scribbling directly with Persian Blue Watercolor Brush Marker and then squeezed a bit of the watercolor on a palette and spread it with the help of a water brush. Next, I applied Lagoon Watercolor Brush Marker in some places and then went back in with Persian Blue Watercolor Marker.
I used Caribbean Sky Embossing Powder for the heat embossing on this panel. In the end, I added a few splatters of water and used a tissue paper to soak them up.
For the card, I decided to add a few strips which I cut out of a panel that I colored with Persian Blue and Caribbean Sky Artist Markers. This is an interesting technique, you should definitely watch the video to see how I created the panel. I then cut out several strips of various thickness out of that panel and adhered it below my watercolored panel.
To finish off, I stamped the sentiment in Charcoal Suit Crisp Dye Ink and adhered a tiny crystal heart next to the sentiment.
I made two cards out of my third panel. But first, let me tell you how I watercolored this panel. I started by spritzing water onto the panel, which has Copper heat embossing, by the way. Then I added Rouge Watercolor Brush Marker and it starting spreading right away, following the pathway that the water spritz made and formed a beautiful vein-like pattern. Next, I added Ruby Red Watercolor Brush Marker and the third color I added was Citrus Burst Watercolor Brush Marker. I did go back to add more of Rouge Watercolor.
I used Halftone Hearts Nesting Die Set to die cut a heart out of this panel. Before stamping the sentiment, I inked the panel with Antique Linen Distress Ink. Next, I placed a bit of gold string then adhered my heart over it. To finish, I adhered a few sequins.
I cut the leftover piece into a rectangle and mounted it on a mat to give it a framed and finished look. Next, I added score lines onto my card front and stamped the sentiment.
To finish, I mounted the framed watercolor panel onto the card front with foam tape.
Now onto my last card which has Platinum embossing on it. On the panel, I first generously applied Espresso Watercolor. I did leave a bit of a border to which I added Jet Black Watercolor Brush Marker. I made sure to touch the already wet Espresso watercolor so that the two would react and form cool patterns.
To make it even more interesting, I went back in with Espresso Watercolor Brush Marker and added color to the area where the two colors met so that a little bit of black flows into the Espresso area.
For the card, I cut the watercolored panel to the width of my card and adhered it to a piece of black cardstock that was slightly larger than the watercolored panel. Before mounting this on the card front with foam tape, I stamped the sentiment.
To finish, I adhered a small die-cut heart next to the sentiment.
I hope you liked the new Watercolor Brush Markers as much as I did. The only two colors that I didn't use on my cards are Mountain Mist and Metallic Silver.
