Hello, Altenew friends! It's Virginia here. Since Valentine's Day is just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to share His and Hers Valentine's Day cards. Hopefully, this post will get your creative juices flowing. Now, what could be more perfect to express love with flowers and hearts?
Let's start with HER version.
The following steps will help explain how I created this card:
- Hand draw a heart with a pencil (you can use a heart shape die).
- Stamp the leaves from Amazing You Stamp Set around the heart with Sea Shore Oval/Mini Cube Crisp Ink Set.
- On a separate piece of white card stock, swipe Sea Shore Oval Crisp Ink Set and Rose Petal/Mini Cube Crisp Inks and let dry.
- Stamp flowers, leaves and stems with Jet Black Crisp Ink and then fussy cut them out.
- Stamp the sentiment in Sea Shore Crisp Inks and Rose Petal/Mini Cube Inks.
- Arrange and adhere the flowers around the heart.
- Embellish with strings, sequins and Nuvo Crystal Drops
This is a great way to stretch your favorite Altenew inks! The best thing is the color will coordinate perfectly as the Altenew Inks and stamps do all of the work (wink!!)
Next is HIS version. Please know that this design is also suitable for Anniversary, Birthday, Just Because… any type of occasion for that very special someone.
This time I made a heart die cut and used the negative part as the mask. I then started stamping with Be a Lighthouse Stamp Set within the heart shape. For the waves, I used Cool Summer Night Oval Crisp Ink. After stamping, I sponged the edges with Warm Sunshine and Cotton Candy Crisp Inks. This will allow the heart to be more distinctive and pronounced.
This one layer design is definitely no fuss and no muss and is perfect for a guy. You can absolutely leave out the sequins. I added them because I accidentally made a smudge! I hope you find some inspiration in creating your His/Her cards. Please feel free to leave me a comment should you have any questions. Wish you a beautiful day!

B oth card are very pretty but I LOVE the masculine one!! Great idea to use the die cut to create a mask. The scene on that card is stunning.
Your cards are perfet!
Thanks for sharing a him/her set of designs for Valentines. . .it offers so many possibilities.
Spectacular cards!
These are wonderful Virginia. I am especially drawn to the lighthouse. I have a dear friend who collects them and would adore this one. Thanks for the inspiration.
Both cards are so well done and beautiful! But I really like the scene you added inside the negative sponged heart die shape. That is really cool for a masculine card.
Oh I am so glad to see a masculine Valentine card. Thank you. Glad to see another Canadian card maker out there.
I have such a hard time making masculine cards. I love the one you made!!
They are both lovely Virginia but I esp. love the “his” version. I guess its because of the scene you created inside of the heart. I have a soft spot for scenic cards.

Both of these cards are just beautiful but I especially love the second one. The colours you used for the sky and the water are perfect and it helps to create a scene that is just stunning!
L O V E your His & Her’s idea!! These cards are fantastic!! I love the beautiful colors you chose on your first card. And the “His” card is perfect!! The sky colors really set the mood. Especially against that beautiful blue. Your talent never ceases to amaze me.
