Create Interest and Dimension with Embossed Vellum

Create Interest and Dimension with Embossed Vellum I started by cutting a window from the front of a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ white card base using the largest die from Stitch Scalloped Circles Die Set. I then cut the same die into a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ panel of Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. Once this was done I took a piece of vellum larger than the die-cut and inked through Water Builder Stencil using Embossing Ink.

When the stencil was removed, I added over Translucent Pearl Embossing Powder and heat set. I then adhered this behind the die-cut circle on the card base, then added the die-cut panel on top – thus sandwiching the vellum between the two die-cut pieces.  Then, I added detail to the inside of the embossed vellum card using Water Builder Stencil using Dew Drops and Sea Glass Inks. Create Interest and Dimension with Embossed Vellum For the cute little fish, I using Calming Koi Die Set. I cut the fins and tail pieces from vellum with Double-Sided Adhesive on the back and the body pieces from Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock.

For the body pieces, I inked them using Chamomile and Terracotta Inks. The markings on the fish were stamped using the small images from Calming Koi Stamp Set and I used Terracotta, Snapdragon, Silver Stone and Jet Black Inks.

For the eyes, I used the white and black markers from Acrylic Markers Set Vol 1. Then I layered the pieces together to create the fishes. I added 2 within the card and one on the front for the focal image. The sentiment is from the Calming Koi Stamp Set.

What do you think about my embossed vellum card? And are you loving these adorable koi fish as much as I do?! Comment below.

What a lovely idea to use Vellum with the water stencil. And then the fish create the dimension that really sets it off. vellum has so many creative uses, and I never tried it.
