Hi friends,
Svitlana is here. Today I want to share two cards made using purely heat embossing.
I'm a big fan of embossing and when an embossing idea comes to my mind I don't hesitate to implement it.
For my first card I used Indoor Garden Stamp Set. It's an awesome set with beautiful and stylish images. This is a multi layer one, but you totally mix and match layers.
To start off first cut a panel out of Jet Black Cardstock of 3.75 and 5 inches. Currently I'm loving this size of a card panel in general, which creates a quarter inch margin with an A2 card base. But other than that when I'm working with a dark cardstock I like placing such panel onto a white card base and a margin of this width kind of tones down the darkness of the cardstock.
Next I went ahead and white embossed several images from the set using Pure White Embossing Powder. For images which don't have a full outline image I just used one layer to kind of finish off an image.
For the sentiment I took one from Succulents Stamp Set and also white embossed it.
Finally I foam mounted the panel onto a Solar White card base. And added several white liquid droplets to accentuate the card.
The second card was much more fun for me ;) I saw the similar pattern on a throw pillow and wanted to replicated it.
Onto a Solar White panel I embossed a solid monstera from Parrot Paradise Stamp Set using Antique Gold Embossing Powder. And before heat setting it I grabbed a small brush and brushed off the powder from the middle of the leaf. And then I went ahead and heat set it.
I did the same for several more leaves, gold heat embossing them to fill the panel.
I was struggling how to make a sentiment and using a black stripe was my first thought. But it would be kind of off the rest of the card since I didn't have any black. So to make the design more cohesive I opted to use a Jet Black card base.
Then I was deciding the color for the sentiment. I didn't want to have it in gold. Since I already had enough gold and also gold embossing on black wouldn't look very vivid. So I went with white, as I already had the white card base to match.
These are just a couple of tips of how to introduce a new color to a card.
Hope you like my ideas and tips. Have a wonderful week!

Hi, two Beautiful cards! I just adore the one with the black cardstock, that is such a WOW. It really pop’s off the page. I think the jet black card base was an excellent choice on the other card, it also pop’s, and those leaves are so cool. I was reading my Scrapbook and cards magazine this morning and I saw ALTENEW featured in the magazine, it was very cool. Thanks for sharing.
Very cool cards! Very striking!
What beautiful cards Svitlana! I love them both!
Great ideas for simply heat embossing cards, Svitlana. The white on black is so striking. The brushed away gold leaves is a great technique that I know I’ll be using in the near future–it looks so classy and elegant. TFS
These are fantastic cards!! I love the white on the black. It is so striking!!
These are fabulous!!
Two great techniques – and such well balanced, thought out designs.
Love the look of a solid stamp with some ep brushed off. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work. [Black and White one is very striking!]
Both cards are outstanding. You did a wonderful job.
That is simply awesome!
Having a black card base makes the design just pop. Very stunning!
Both of these cards are gorgeous! Especially the white embossing powder on the jet black cardstock! Wow, wow, wow, wow and WOW! TFS!
Such great cards Svitana, love the black/white one esp. Well done!
