Hello, Altenew friends! It's Virginia here. I am excited to share my take on the Sunlit Flower Card Making Kit. Whether you are new or advanced in card making, a card kit is definitely a must for giving your creativity a workout!
This kit includes a beautiful floral stamp set featuring two multi-step flowers, leaves, and a couple of sentiments. If you love butterflies, this kit also comes with two-step butterfly dies.
Once I received the card kit, I was so inspired by the color combo of the Artist Markers Starter Kit (Cotton Candy, Mango Smoothie, and Frayed Leaf) that I created 3 cards in no time.
In my first card, I stamped and masked flowers in the corner as a cluster. This can be done easily with a stamp positioner such as MISTI. For the masking, I stamped outline flowers on Post-It notes and cut them out. This extra step really make the bouquet of flowers look natural and realistic!
I then colored the flowers and leaves with the Artist Markers. To add some interests, I used the detailed butterfly die to add some dry-embossing details.
The sentiment was embossed in Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder on Gold Foil Cardstock. Don't have the right color cardstock to layer your images? Do not panic! Here I used the Mango Smoothie Crisp Dye Ink to ink up the edges. This really makes the overall design look more polished and cohesive!
The 12 matching A2-sized envelopes are also included in this kit!
I took a different approach with my 2nd card. I decided to stamp a cluster of flowers and then fussy-cut the entire image out.
To give this card some extra oomph, I lightly sponged the background with Ocean Waves Crisp Dye Ink and popped the large floral images up. The score lines seem to make the focal point even more eye-catching.
My 3rd card is all about the butterflies! The layered floral stamp makes stamping the background a delight!
In the following photo, you can see that I applied the Cotton Candy, Ocean Waves, and Mango Smoothie inks directly to the paper. The butterflies were then die cut from the paper and they matched perfectly with the stamped images.
The butterfly dies were purposely offset a bit to add motion and extra dimension! I think they worked!
Did you know that Altenew's Ink Sprays are the best for adding splatters? I took out the Jet Black Ink Spray and added some “drama”! I truly hope that my cards can give you some inspiration with the lovely Sunlit Flower Card Making Kit.
This kit truly is great for gift-giving to co-workers, friends or relatives who want to jump start on card making! AND it is awesome if you are thinking of doing a card making party during the holiday for a family/friends get-together! Please feel free to share your ideas in the comments about what you would love to do with a card kit like this! I wanna know!
Have a fabulous day!

Great kit, BEAUTIFUL cards
Exzcellent kit and Virginia gave us 3 wonderful, colorful cards!
Such gorgeous cards!!
So difficult to pick of favorite from this bevy of beauty but you know what a sucker I am for dry embossing…but then there’s the soft, dreamy blue background and those delightful flowers on you second card. That last one is a stunner, too. Love how you matched the butterflies with the colors of the florals.
These are lovely and a great showcase for this kit!
