This is a Die Set You Definitely Want in Your Craftroom!

by Virginia Lu

Hello, Altenew friends! This is Virginia here. I have two projects with the wonderful Wavy Outlines Die Set. This die set will cut out some delicate and whimsical floral images that coordinate perfectly with the Wavy Roses Stamp Set, Die Set, and Mask Stencil. However, I find that the dies alone offer so many possibilities that I can't stop playing with this set.

I love the ease of coloring the rose petals with various watercolor mediums. The Watercolor Brush Markers are so handy for this. In order to secure the die-cut pieces, I added washi tape and secured the backing with additional paper.

Once I colored the rose petals and let dry, I die cut the rose once more with Gold Foil Cardstock. Carefully, I adhered the gold outline die onto the colored pieces.

To create a cohesive background with the roses, I once again die cut the outline rose with a dry-embossing mat and colored in the petals and leaves with Watercolor Brush Markers.

The sentiment (from Breezy Bouquet) was stamped in Obsidian Pigment Ink. Since I was having so much fun with this die set, I continued with the same approach and created my 2nd card.  This time I incorporated the Metallic Watercolor 14 Pan Set.

It is so fun and easy to mix in Altenew Watercolor sets with the Metallic Pan set to add that spectacular shine!

This time I applied Jet Black Cardstock as the outline and the result is so striking against the bright metallic shine.

Noticed the subtle textured background? It is from the Delicate Mandala Die.  Once it was dry embossed with the embossing mat, I gently applied Mountain Mist over the surface. If you love this look, imagine what you can do with all of your cover dies?

To add the extra gold touches, what can be more perfect than stamping the sentiment (“Fancy Greetings”) in Enchanted Gold Pigment Ink?

The splatters from Antique Gold Ink Spray completed the card.  Isn't this Wavy Outline Die simply wonderful? I hope that you feel inspired after seeing this post. Thank you so much for stopping by!

There is so much wonderful detail on your cards today. I absolutely love the dry embossed backgrounds using the mandala and the Wavy Roses die. Both cards are beautiful! I especially like the gold foil outlined Rose. So elegant!

I’m totally cinvinced you made these cards for me, especially the first one, although the gorgeous dry embossing on both is fabulous. The coloring and details make them perfect.

Your cards are lovely. The second one is my favorite because of the colors you picked and the background.

This is so beautiful Virginia I just used the wavy die yesterday to make a birthday card. I love what you did with it. I have to try dry embossing with dies. I’ve never done that.

Appreciate the very different look of these cards from the same die set. Great way to demonstrate the diversity possible.
