Hello!
Today we are celebrating the 10th “The Daily Marker 30-Day Coloring Challenge”!
Kathy Racoosin from the daily marker started this fun 30-day challenge back in March 2015 and now, three years later, we are already on the 10th challenge! What an amazing accomplishment!
You may have come here from Kathy's blog, if not you can always go back and check out the full list of the amazing people who are joining the hop today!
The goal of this challenge is to color something every day even if it is for a few minutes and share it with the crafting community. If you are new to this challenge, you can read more about it here.
I was very excited to create something for this blog hop; one, because Kathy is awesome and, two, because I rarely ever color and this was a great opportunity to do just that!
I made two cards using one stamp set for the images. I went for an older set, do you remember this one? It is the Floral Motifs Stamp Set. This set is filled with outline images so it was perfect for coloring:
I stamped everything in black, then colored in using Altenew Artist Markers. I used Coral Berry, Frosty Pink, Buttercream and Warm Sunshine for the flowers, and the lightest two grays for the leaves. The leaves look so flat! (Now you know why I don't color much!)
I added a sentiment from the set Scribbled Flowers and finished the card with a few yellow enamel dots.
For the second card, I did a bit of elaborate coloring (for me!). Before I show you the finished card, let me show you what I colored first:
After stamping the floral pattern, I kept the flowers mostly white and colored the background using Persian Blue marker. Boy, did that take a while to color! Originally, I had intended to cut a smaller panel and mount it on a card base, but I just couldn't bring myself to cut this up! I also didn't want to use it as is, so after some trial and error, I decided to cut a window out of a white card and mount the colored panel behind it.
In the end, I got the look I wanted in addition to the comforting thought that my laboriously colored panel is still there in the back and you can almost see it if you peek through the window.
That's it from me! Feel free to leave a comment and let me know if you enjoy coloring, and if you do, what is your favorite coloring medium?
Your next stop on the hop is Concord & 9th.

So pretty I love the way you colored it in the two different ways so fun!
The flowers are lovely – I really like the coral/pink and greyscale ones.
I really loved your cards. Your colouring skills are great and the colours you chose are soooooo pretty. Thanks for sharing with us.
I love your cards but the second one is my favorite! I never think to stamp and then color the background so definitely want to give that a try!
Very beautiful cards. When I first saw the blue one I thought how did she die cut that one? Then I read that you colored it in! Amazing and I bet it did take a bit but it is worth is because it is a stunning card. Really and the blue jumps out at you even more after you matted it/framed it. Spectacular and thank you for sharing that with us!
Gorgeous cards. I love and enjoy coloring so much. It’s a perfect therapy for me :)
That Blue is beautiful
Fabulous cards! The blue one is stunning! I am starting to enjoy coloring but I need some more practice :)
I’m glad I’m not the only one intimidated by coloring! I love how yo did the 2nd card, coloring the background instead of the stamped image. I might have to borrow this idea later in the month.
I love the blue background card.
I like how you added the white border around the blue card. And I love the color challenge for this community! Fun!
Beautiful coloring, thank you for the inspiration!
Beautiful coloring :)
Gorgeous cards! I love the blue background!
CONGRATULATIONS to the winner! I didn’t realize the hop would close so soon! I enjoy coloring also, & I enjoy using Colored Pencils, & Water Colors! Your cards look GREAT! The image reminds me of Elizabethan Embroidery! ;)
I love your cards. I think your coloring is lovely, and I love the unique color combo with the gray and rose colors. Just beautiful.
I love your first card so much! Yellow is my favorite color & boy did you use it! I love to color & I love to stamp. Your second blue card is so blue! LOL I’ve been a part of almost all the coloring challenges and Kathy never did a blog hop before. I cam’t wait to see what everyone did on the rest of the hop. Both cards are beautiful & I love your coloring!
Lovely cards! The Floral Motifs set is a fave!
