How to Make a Textured Floral Card Using Sunburst Azalea

by Svitlana Shayevich

Hello friends,

Svitlana is here. Today I want to share a textured floral card featuring the beautiful Craft-A-Flower Sunburst Azalea Die Set.

We recently moved to a new home and my craft room is partially in boxes. So, my crafting conditions are a bit limited, meaning – I don't have a proper space yet to play with dozens of inks when creating one card (and all my inks are still in boxes anyway).

So when I was making the card I'm sharing today, I decided to go ink-free (almost) and utilized techniques that require fewer supplies – such as die-cutting and embossing (you only need to unpack your die-cutting machine, and you're ready to go).

I started making the card by creating the floral elements for it. I used the Cherry Blossom and Green Meadows Gradient Cardstock Sets to die cut elements of the Craft-A-Flower Sunburst Azalea Die Set out of them.

After die-cutting, I layered the corresponding elements using liquid adhesive to assemble the flowers.

After that, I moved on to the creation of the background. First, I embossed a Forest Glades Cardstock panel using the Flower Bed 3D Embossing Folder.

Next, I blended the Evergreen Dye Ink onto it using the Blending Tool to highlight the embossed design texture.

For additional interest, I also wrapped a pink baker's twine around the panel, tying a bow on the right. Next, the panel was adhered to a white card base.

After that, I adhered all the elements onto the panel, forming a floral cluster.

To make the sentiment, I white embossed a stamp set from the You Are Stamp Set onto a Jet Black Cardstock strip and adhered it onto the card, which finished it off.

I hope you liked my textured floral card idea. Thank you for stopping by!

Beautiful Card. I love the Build a flower idea. You can make many at one time and put them all together when ready for a card.
