This new set of coordinating products from Altenew is practical, delicate, and versatile all in one! I am going to show you how seamlessly they work together in my two projects for the day.
The new Enamel Elements Ensemble was the perfect starting point for these memory-keeping layouts; both follow a similar design but feature different parts of the ensemble.
Layout #1 – Masculine 6×8 Double Spread
Let's start with a colorful but simple textural background for your memory keeping layouts. For this spread, I am taking advantage of the new Glacier Caves Gradient Washi Tapes to create the background and embellishments for the spread.
My gradient color background is created with the 4 shades of washi tape (Glacier Caves Gradient Washi Tape) on white cardstock.
I made two of these panels in an identical fashion so that the second one could be cut into embellishments using the Decorative Enamels Die Set.
The key to transforming the panel and the die cuts into a textural background for memory keeping is attaching the die cuts atop the panel following the color formation. This results in a subtle textural look on the page.
Since there is quite a bit of color in the background, I am opting for keeping my page simple. Just a few enamel dots (Glacier Caves Enamel Dots) and an extra Decorative Enamel die-cut complete this spread.
Layout#2 – Feminine 7×9 Layout
For this spread, I am using the simpler technique of textural backgrounds for memory keeping, which is a tone-on-tone look using cardstock.
The subtle texture that the tone-on-tone die-cuts create on the panel presents a neutral background. This in turn helps to bring out the details in the flower embellishments featured on the page.
I am using the new Enamel Flowers Stamp Set, Enamel Flowers Simple Coloring & Layering Stencil Set, and Enamel Flowers Die Set to create them. These three new products are also part of the new Enamel Elements Ensemble.
I am opting for tones of soft pink and greens from the new Trailblazing Fresh Dye Ink Bundle to contrast with the soft textural background. Unlike the previous layout, this page features a few extra pops of color with the Red Sunset Enamel Dots. The soft combination of colors and textures defines this simple layout.
You can watch these two pages come together in the following video here, or in HD on Altenew's YouTube channel:
I hope the video has given you a better idea of how these textural backgrounds for memory-keeping layouts are created and how they can easily enhance your memory-keeping. The key is to play with the tone-on-tone die-cut technique for your projects.
I cannot wait to see how you will use the new Enamel Elements Ensemble in your projects. If you use the idea for the textural backgrounds either on your memory-keeping layouts or other projects, make sure to share it with us, too!
Have fun crafting!
