Take 2 With Therese: Stamp Highlight – Beloved Daisy + Video!

by Therese Calvird

Hi, it's Therese and I am back with another edition of Take 2 with Therese.

Today, I am sharing two cards using Altenew's Beloved Daisy Stamp Set.  Both of my cards use the same stamps and Crisp Dye Ink colors but the end result is quite different.

Altenew - Beloved Daisy - Weekend Doodles - Take 2 with Therese (card video) 1 copy

I started with a simple emboss resist technique.  Here I stamped and heat embossed the Beloved Daisy images before adding the ink over top.

Then I added a simple frame using one of the Fine Frame Cover Dies.

Next, I stamp-layered the daisy images and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

These are both such beautiful cards Therese but I am especially drawn to the first one and I am feeling very inspired to try this. I have been away on vacation for a week and before that busy prepping to go so I have not had time to play in my craftroom for a while. You have definitely inspired me to get back in there and try something fun! TFS!

That card was so much fun to make, and I love how the colours contrasted with each other too! Hope you have fun playing.

2 beauties, Therese! So fun to see what different looks you got using the same products! That thin frame was a great addition–gotta remember that!

Thanks for the wonderful video. I can’t wait to try it. I do have to buy some of those beautiful colors. Thanks for the tip of which paper to use. I do get warping with my card stock. And my water color paper is to bumpy.

Reply
Therese Calvird April 18, 2019 - 3:59 AM

If your cardstock warps simply wrap it in some copy paper and run it through your die cutting machine (without any dies) it adds pressure and flattens it out.

The colours together behind the embossed flowers on your first card looks like a field of flowers, it’s awesome!
Your second card is also so beautiful, I love both of the cards. Thank you again for your great inspiration Therese, I love your serie. Have a great Easter weekend.

At first glance I fell in love with the embossed card, but as I continued watching the video I also really like the other card as well. Any mom would love to get either for Mother’s Day. Thank you for sharing.
