Hi, it's Therese, and I am back with another edition of Take 2 with Therese. Today, I'm sharing two cards made with Repeat Patterns today!
Do you look at your dies and think about creating patterns with them! It's such a fun and EASY technique and I have 2 different ideas to share with you today.
Let's Make Some Patterns!
There are many ways that you can create a repeat pattern on a card design. You can use stamped line art or colored images, geometric shapes either stamped or die cut, but for today I am using die cut images to create my patterns. Some die sets could feel like they were made for this, such as my first example, but you can definitely adapt other dies to create something similar such as I did on my second card today.
Idea # 1 – Polish Papercuts!
This is a gorgeous layering die set that is perfect for today's technique. The Polish Papercuts 3D Die is such fun! Not only can you layer up the individual pieces but the joy really happens when you start building the pattern. And there are so many ‘pattern' possibilities!I chose some bright colors from the Cherry Blossom and Sea Shore Gradient Cardstock Packs. Don't they just pop on that Navy Cardstock background?
BONUS IDEA: How amazing would this card look in ‘black & white'… using shades of gray!
I added a simple sentiment from the Hello and Hugs Stamp Set, stamped with Desert Night ink to coordinate with the dark background.
Idea # 2 – Lovely Envelope!
It doesn't have to be layering die sets that could be used for this technique. For my next example, I decided to make my pattern using the hearts from the Lovely Envelope Die Set.
Again, I layered the images to create a pattern within a pattern and used the same color palette to keep things easy.
PRO TIP: To keep dimension to a minimum, adhere the hearts directly to the card front instead of popping them up.
For a bit of fun I decided to make a circle shaped card but this pattern would also look lovely on the front of an A2 card design.
