Stretch The Watercolor Frames Stamp

by Virginia Lu

Hello Altenew friends! It's Virginia here. I am taking this chance to highlight one of those amazing background stamps that Altenew has to offer. There are so many awesome floral-layering stamps, dies and stencils. BUT, what about those abstract-looking stamps? I am sharing two examples with Watercolor Frames Stamp and hopefully, this will post will get you inspired and that you would want to ink up the background stamp right away!

Altenew File

With Under the Cherry Blossom Stamp set, you can easily stamp it with Watercolor Frame.

Altenew File1

This is a one layer card and yet it has fabulous depth thanks to the “sunlight” in the background. I started with stamping the solid watercolor frame with Warm Sunshine Crisp Dye Ink and Buttercream Crisp Dye Ink.

I stamped the scene with my favorite inks: Rose Petal Oval Set and Coffee Break Oval Set.

Altenew File2

The best thing about Watercolor Frames Stamp? You absolutely do not have to worry about lining it up. With the warm glow in the background, the bird just “sings”!!

My next card is to incorporate Watercolor Frames Stamp into part of the design.

Altenew File3

Isn't the “wreath” beautiful?

Altenew File4

I love stamping wreaths. The Watercolor Frame comes with lovely circles and is perfect for inking up a wreath. I stamped it with Volcano Crisp Dye Ink from Sea Shore Crisp Dye Oval Set and Bamboo Crisp Ink from Tropical Forest Oval Set. A strange color combination, but they totally work, right?

The flowers from “Adore You” complements the wreath so nicely. I popped one flower up for interest and extra dimension.

Of course, the black and white stripe paper from Reflection Paper Pad makes the stamped image pop! I surely hope you would now look through your Altenew background stamps with fresh eyes!  Don't forget to join the June Stencil Release Blog Hop. There is still time to comment for a chance to win. You inspire virtually endless possibilities for this somewhat humble stamp set. I can see the simplicity of the circular “spray” one as a background for any saying. Lovely, simply lovely. Thank you for your time, talent and generosity.
