Stamping For Autism Awareness Blog Hop

by jenniferrzasa

unnamedGood morning!

We are so excited to be participating in this year's Autism Awareness Blog Hop!

Veronica Zalis organized the blog hop to raise autism awareness and to celebrate all those with autism and those whose lives have been touched by autism. When she contacted us, we knew right away that we wanted to join in!

For more information on the blog hop (and the prizes!), you can read her post here.

Some of you may know that I teach elementary music, which means I see hundreds of students each week. I am so fortunate to teach every student in my school! I have to say that my students with autism are among the sweetest and it's an honor to see them grow from year to year.

DSC 0137 smallFor my card today, I started with a piece of 4.25″x5.5″ cardstock. I blended Warm Sunshine ink over the Layered Kaleidoscope Stencil A, followed by Coral Berry ink over Layered Kaleidoscope Stencil B. I focused the second layer of ink in the center of the panel only, inking more heavily in the middle.

Then, I stamped out a little dude from the Ninja Invasion Stamp Set and cut him out with the coordinating die. I adhered him to the inked panel with foam tape so that his foot lined up with the pink burst in the center. I love how it looks like he's got a powerful kick!

The sentiment was created with the ASL Love Stamp Set and each letter was cut out with its coordinating die. I popped these up onto a strip of cardstock and then adhered the strip with foam tape as well. To finish the card, I mounted the panel onto an A2 sized white card.

Great cards and a wonderful cause. It’s terrific that the crafting community is so caring and works on awareness for many causes. Crafters in general are just great, loving and caring people–as all the folks at Altenew are. Thanks for promoting this great cause.

Great card. Thank you for bringing awareness of autism to the forefront. I don’t personally know any people with autism but I bought christmas cards one year that were made by autistic children. Great cause.

I would like to say how much I appreciate that you are participating in this. My son is 12 and he has Aspergers syndrome. He also has aggressive ADHD and it was hard to get the autism diagnosis and therefore to get it treated. This is a wonderful way to raise awareness

Thanks for sponsoring such a great cause getting awareness about autism is very important as not many people are aware of how autism affects many family’s.
Nice card. I have a daughter with autism she is 25 years old now and people who don’t understand think like somehow as parent we failed and act like things we deal with is because of bad parenting.
Glad there is initiatives like this to spread awareness.
Thanks to all who sponsored and Veronica for putting together such great cause blog with lovely sponsorship.
Crafting is my outlet from the challenges.
Have a blessed day!
