How to Create Gorgeous Cards with Watercolor Blooms Stamp Set

by Laurie Willison

Hello there, it's Laurie!  I am stopping by today with some new projects showcasing the gorgeous new stamp set called Watercolor Blooms. This stamp set is full of little flowers and leaves with beautiful details to add to any handmade project.

FIRST CARD

Altenew WatercolorBloomsV LaurieWillison6I paired Watercolor Blooms with the gorgeous sentiment set called Crafty Greetings for all of my cards today. To create this first card, I stamped the blooms in yellow inks, Sunray and Chamomile, all over a white cardstock panel. Next, I added in some leaves along with the tiny blooms included in the set.

Altenew WatercolorBloomsV LaurieWillison5Using my favorite stencil, Classy Stripes, I lightly blended in some of the yellow inks just to create a little extra detail. To finish off the card, I stamped the sentiment using Obsidian Ink and added black dots in the center of the smallest blooms. Then, I added the card front to a white card base with foam adhesive for some dimension.

Clean and simple is my favorite card-making style so I had to bring a nice bright white card into today's projects.

Altenew WatercolorBloomsV LaurieWillison3The “Craftiness is Happiness” sentiment from the Crafty Greetings set is one of my favorites. I just love that font and how it looks in bold black ink.

Altenew WatercolorBloomsV LaurieWillison1I stamped and die cut the blooms and added them right above the sentiment with foam tape to finish off this easy card.

In the next card, I wanted to bring in another round of Classy Stripes for my last card so I added in some super-light gray stripes using Limestone Ink.

Altenew WatercolorBloomsV LaurieWillison7Next, I stamped and die cut several blooms and arranged them just how I wanted them. Here, I used a piece of press ‘n seal to pick them up and add them to the card front all at once.

Altenew WatercolorBloomsV LaurieWillison9Finally, I added one more Crafty Greetings sentiment to the card front, and then finished the card off with some bling!

These are beautiful! I love the soft stripes in the background on those 2 cards and this stamp set is wonderful.

Such pretty cards. I love the colours you choice. I really liked the one layered card. I like to give card sets as gifts, and I find that one layer cards are the best as layered cards can sometimes get crushed, or warp the other cards if they sit too long. I am always on the look out for cards with no dimension or very little. And these cards are perfect for that.

I love how you filled the card with Blooms stamping – that looks so cool. The clean and simple, though so ‘simple,’ looks classy. Very nice!
