Stamp Focus: Totally Tropical

by Sveta Fotinia

Hello everyone! Sveta is here and I'm ready to focus on the newest Totally Tropical stamp set!

6x8 Totally Tropical 1

I can't get enough of the tropical theme so I'm over the moon that this release brought us two tropical sets!

I made my first card unexpectedly vintage and distressed.

First I stamped a bouquet using masking technique with Jet Black Crisp Dye Ink and Espresso Crisp Dye Ink.

After all stamping is done I took a blending tool to tone card borders with Rocky Shore Crisp Dye Ink  and leaves with Moss Crisp Dye Ink.

For the card panel I used Spicy Yogurt cardstock along with the Dark Chocolate cardstock for the card base.

The second card is also brownish but this time due to kraft. I took Parchment cardstock as a card base.

This time I heat embossed images of flowers and leaves with the Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder. I fussy cut them and placed in a composition.

This composition was actually made as a layout for the main image – a giraffe from the Baby Zoo set.

Finally I combined sentiments from the both sets and added some sequins.

The third card is the most traditional for me. I took a piece of watercolor paper and heat embossed flowers and leaves composition on it using the Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder.

Then I used watercolor markers and some water to color up this composition and added a sentiment die-cut made using Thanks die.

Hope you got inspired today!

Very creative with these cards! But…what is fuzzy cutting? I’m just now thinking perhaps you meant fussy cutting? That must be it! The vintage – looking brown inks really reminded me of Hawaii as depicted in the movie, The Descendants, about vintage days in Hawaii!
