Stamp Focus: Succulents

by Therese Calvird

Hello! Today we are focusing on Succulents.

Succulents

I am so excited to get to share this amazing stamp set as my focus post.  I had so many ideas and today I have three cards that I would like to show you, starting with a bold panel.  My original idea for this card was quite different and now I can't even remember what it was even meant to look like, because when the idea of a Succulents panel took over that was it, I couldn't focus on anything else until this one was made.  So lots of masking and some simple copic colouring using the Succulent stamp set and a bold white embossed sentiment from Beautiful Lady and this card came together very quickly and just I had imagined (the second time).

My second card is very clean & simple, do you remember the retro macrame plant hangers?  Well, I have a memory of my mother making them and hanging plants about our house.  Originally I made a version of this card using some twine but changed focus a little when I got the idea to use the Modern Deco Alpha to stamp my own ‘macrame hanger'.  The potted plant came from the Succulents stamp set and I added a simple black sentiment from Thinking of You, there are so many beautiful sentiments and fonts in this set.

For my final card I decided to get out my Kuretake watercolours and masked out the Succulents without the pots to create my little desert scene.  I popped it up on a card front and added some wood sequins and a sprinkle, then finally a sentiment from Sketchy Cities America 2.

I've had so much fun with this Succulents stamp set and I can't wait to see what you create with it too, I just know you will have as much fun as me!   Hope you have a great and crafty day,

Therese

All three of these cards are so well designed and colored. The idea of using the Art Deco alpha set for the macrame hanger is brilliant. The one that knocked me flat was the first card…amazing masking and coloring. Just beautiful
