Hello Altenew friends! This is Virginia. I hope you are excited about one of the layering stamp sets from Altenew's August 2019 release – the Playful Plumeria!
Based on the tropical flowers, the “Playful Plumeria” Stamp Set comes with two flowers, a branch, leaves, and seven gorgeous sentiments. Each flower and leaf have 3-4 layering stamps. It is effortless to line up and build depth with each layering. It also comes with assorted powerful and uplifting sentiments. Love that!
By following the insert instruction, I stamped all 3 layers for each flower, leaf, and branch. The plumerias were stamped in Misty Morning Mini Ink Cube and in Enchanted Garden (Wisteria, Ultraviolet, Andromeda, and Hydrangea).
For the branch, I stamped it in Hazelnut. With the coordinating die, I was able to assemble them into a bouquet. The purple string ribbon makes this card extra special.
To create more contrast and interest, I added tiny white dots in all of the flowers. As for the background, I applied Wisteria and Baby Pink over the Heart Builder Stencil. The sentiment from “Wonderful Wycinanki” completes this birthday card.
TIP! Aim for odd numbers and triangles in your design. I strategically positioned the three leaves in the background. This helps draw our eyes to the focal point!
My next card is all about stamping with rich and bright ink such as Altenew's Enchanted Gold Pigment Ink! After all, what's tropical without the happy and bright colors?
The Warm and Cozy, Vanilla Cream, and Sunray Inks make a beautiful combo for the orange plumeria. I also love the mix of Coral Bliss and Vineyard Berry. The leaves were stamped in Volcano Lake and Lagoon. To make the entire design cohesive, I stamped the top layer with Enchanted Gold Pigment Ink. The Dot Art Stamp Set comes in handy for adding whimsical details with the borders.
TIP! Start stamping the focal point first and then stamp and mask around the main image. Adjust the balance and colors as you stamp. The Antique Gold Metallic Inks Spray is excellent for adding splatters without creating the bulk.
My 3rd card is light and airy and there is actually no stamping involved! Is that even doable with a color-layering stamp set? :)
I stamped the 3rd layering stamp (A3) using an Embossing Ink and applied Platinum Embossing Powder over the Translucent Vellum. Then I die cut the plumeria and arranged them over the Nesting Labels Die Frame with the Essential Rock Collection 6×6 Paper Pack.
The dainty stamped (Evening Gray) and die-cut branches were arranged within the frame. I then applied the Envelope Stickers to the center and I added some Rock Collection Enamel Dots.
TIP: Color-layering stamps are not only perfect for stamping; they are great for embossing too. Look into your stash and use one of the layers for embossing!
As I finish with this post, MORE ideas came to my mind and I definitely will have more to share in my blog! I hope today's Stamp Focus with Playful Plumeria Stamp Set inspires you and sparks your creativity! Your comments and feedback are always appreciated. Thank you so much for stopping by!
