Hello everyone Erum here today. I hope you all are well and good. First of all, tell me, did you enjoy our new release and fell in love with the Mini Blossom Die Cutting Machine? Hehehe we all did! Today I will be focusing on Peony Spray Stamp Set.
First, just a simple stamped image which I watercoloured with distress stains.
To start, I stamped the image with Permanent Black Ink onto watercolour paper and watercoloured it. I then die cut the image with a coordinating die using my new Mini Blossom Die-Cutting machine.
For my front panel, I die cut a piece of cardstock and added paint splatters of the same colours that I used on the flower spray.
I stamped my sentiment “Always be blooming” after the panel was dry.
I then popped my flower on to the panel with foam tape. Lastly, I added a few sequins for the bling.
Here, I stamped the flowers with Altenew Embossing Ink twice and heat embossed the images with Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder. Then, I proceeded to watercolour the image with Metallic Ink Sprays. The colours I used are Frosty Pink, Coral Berry, Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades.
The shimmer on these flowers is gorgeous! I fussy cut them out and arranged the floral spray on my card front.
In addition to the Ink Sprays, I added a light colourwash to the front panel.
In the end, I heat embossed a sentiment and cut it into a thin strip to pop it on top of my floral arrangement.
Third and last.
Firstly, I know I have said this before but colouring with Artist Markers is SO quick (and fun).
Here, I had to do some masking and stamping to make my floral border. The markers I used to colour are from Sets B and C.
- Flowers: Blush, Rouge, Crimson Red
- Leaves: Buttercream, Warm Sunshine, Caramel Toffee and Paper Bag
Also, I stamped a couple of extra leaves separately to cut and add on a different level for interest. Because I masked, I couldn't die cut my panel but instead I fussy cut it out leaving a bit of white border.
Most importantly, in order for the border and the front panel to “gel” together, I added “drips” and splatters of Rouge and Warm Sunshine Crisp Ink as watercolours, this made all the difference. The card front is Spicy Yoghurt cardstock.
That is all for today. I hope you liked the cards. Again, I had SO MUCH FUN making these.
If you were inspired and will be CASEing any of the cards, don't forget to share them with us by using the hashtag #altenew.
