Stamp Focus: Pattern Play Diamond

by Virginia Lu

Hello Altenew friends! It's Virginia here! I am excited to share some projects with the new May release. Among the stamp sets, the Pattern Play Diamond is a powerhouse for background stamping.

The trendy and modern diamond shapes are perfect for any simple or sophisticated designs. I hope today's post will give you some creative ideas on using background stamps like this.

May 25th release EP dies and stamps1Let's start with simple stamping. I chose a few colors from our Altenew Inks (Tropical Forest Oval and Summer Afternoon Oval) and started stamping away.
The overlapping of the diamonds with the solid stamps add oomph and interest. I chose the sentiment from “Engineers Rules” because this makes such an awesome masculine card!

My next card incorporates the NEW amazing Embossing Powder! The Golden Peach Crisp Embossing Powder truly SHINES in this diamond-studded card.

I also used Orange Cream Card Stock to enhance the over all design.

The sentiment “You add creativity to my life” (Crafty Friends) can be used for so many occasions, not just for crafty friends. Teacher Appreciation is one of them!

Background stamping is not restricted for plain card stock only. Here I used the pattern paper from the New Day Card Kit.

The new Altenew Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder highlights all the white elements. The diamonds compliment the flower elements and colors beautifully.

This card was fun to create since it requires simple embossing only.

My 4th (and last) card expands on the idea on using Pattern Play Diamond more than just a background stamp. It provides an important design element for the stamped images.

The tulips from Budding Thanks are gorgeous against the stamped diamond. I stamped each solid diamond separately to match the tulips' colors.

Don't you love it when you can create background and focal images with just inks?
