Stamp Focus- Painted Inspiration

by Lydia Evans

Hi there is Lydia here for my very first stamp set focus, today we are focusing on Painted Inspiration.

Painted Inspiration - Altenew - 1

I love this set! The sentiments are all so unique and the large size of them makes them great for all types of project so they are not just for card. Also the type of font makes them great for either guys or girl projects.

For my first card I stamped some florals to ‘frame' my sentiment.

To do this I worked out where my sentiment would go and added some little pencil lines (once I finished my stamping I then erased them before adding the sentiment stamped onto vellum). For the flowers and leaves I have used the Mini Blossoms set, I stamped the solid images using Altenew Crisp Ink in Forest Glades, Warm Sunshine, Cotton Candy, Ocean Waves and Lavender Fields once these were all stamped I then took the outline images in the set and stamped these on top of the corresponding solid images using Jet Black Crisp Ink.

For my second card I have used the sentiment on a strip of vellum again but have not framed it in the same way…

I firstly took a piece of watercolour card and created a light smooshed background using Crisp Inks in Ocean Waves, Dusk and Midnight Violet. Once this was dry I stamped images from the Botanical Garden set in Versafine Black ink (I used this as when it's dry it does not run with water) down the left hand side of the card. I then used the same ink colours to ‘loosely' colour the floral images. For the sentiment to pop on this busy background I stamped it into some vellum before adding to the card.

For my third card I stamped my sentiment first…

I have a video on how I created this one, I hope you like it.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Hugs, Lydia.

Lydia never disappoints…these floral cards are stunning and make the perfect backdrop for these amazing new sentiments. Her butterfly card is simply brilliant and unique. Makes the focal sentiment pop off the page as much as those flutter butterflies.

Pretty cards and loved the acetate to make the butterflies “fly”. Some great tips on water colouring too.

Love the idea of adding the acetate butterflies. I can’t wait to try this technique!
