Stamp Focus: Happy Mail

by Aimes

Hey!

It's Aimes here today getting inky and busy with the wonderful new Happy Mail stamp set to bring you three different ideas using some basic supplies.

Happy Mail

On first viewing, you may think of just using this cool set for decorating envelopes, but I've had a blast creating cards with it too!

First up, here's some mega masking focusing on the sweet postage stamp image.

big hugs

When you get this set, (trust me, you need it!) the first thing I recommend doing is stamping two postage stamp images onto Post-it notes. Cut the outline of one to act as a full mask, and the rectangular aperture of the other to allow you to get creative with creating your customised stamp design.

You may be wondering where the grid stamp is from on this design, but it's simply the address lines stamped horizontally and vertically!

Next up, I fancied trying this stamp set out on an interactive design:

sending lots of love

If you're like me and pretty indecisive when it comes to knowing which design to pick for your stamp, then have your cake and eat it by incorporating two in one design! Simply spin the wheel below the main panel to reveal another secret stamp!

Sending lot of love 2

You'll notice that I also used the new Tiny Hearts stamp for my background. This stamp packs so much punch into a design and I love how it complements the literal meaning of the sentiment. :)

Finally, and just because I love the idea of creating a professional, loving finishing touch to all those cards that I make, I couldn't resist using this stamp set to create a customised envelope:

Envie

I love that you can combine this set with other sets to design customised postage stamps. I stamped a section of skyline from the Sketchy Cities – America stamp set inside my stamp aperture mask for this one. I didn't want my handwriting to ruin a nice envelope, so I used the Calligraphy Alpha stamp set to stamp the name of the recipient. Easy peasy! :D

Well, that's all from me today but no doubt I'm going to be having lots more fun with this Happy Mail stamp set. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Wow … best of both worlds (or as many flowers “hide” inside that wheel) – what a brilliant idea and a fabulous card collection, Amy!
