Hello, Altenew friends! This is Virginia here. I am sharing a few projects with the new musical stamp set “Happy Birthday to You”. When I first saw this stamp set, my thought was, “hello… where have you been all my life!?”. This stamp set offers the true and correct version of the ‘Happy Birthday” music, lyrics, notes, and some extra musical images. In fact, if you are ever so inclined to compose music, this stamp set will allow you to do just that! I took the stamp set for a whirl and these are my own musical interpretations!
Simple Stamping
For my first card, I simply stamped the music score and verses (in Obsidian Pigment Ink) accordingly and this gave me a very musical design.
The key to stamping this clean and orderly design is to plan out the space and order ahead. A stamp positioner like MISTI is certainly helpful. Once the images are all stamped, I added Marsh Land Washi Tape for the subtle background.
I then die cut the Treble Love Die Set in red and black cardstock and then pieced the two together. This makes the perfect score, don't you think?
Rainbow Colors
Of course, Happy Birthday to You works wonders with any of the Altenew floral images! I took out the Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set and came up with this design.
I started out with stamping the dandelion and stems (Maple Yellow, Green Field, and Just Green). After arranging the musical notes in a cluster on my MISTI, I then stamped the notes in rainbow colors.
To ground the design, I applied the Golden Stream Washi Tape. This provides extra shine and instant pops of colors!
To show the sharp contrast, I stamped the two sentiments in Silver Lake and Obsidian Pigment Ink.
Tone-on-Tone Background
My last card is an easy take with a simple tone-on-tone background stamping (Hazelnut Crisp Dye Ink on Parchment Cardstock).
For the Treble Love Die Set, I die cut the Gradient Cardstock and white cardstock. From top to bottom, I used Shades of Purple, Cherry Blossom, Summer Afternoon, and Red Cosmos.
For the sentiment, I applied the Gold Foil 0.5 inch Washi Tape to white cardstock and die cut it through Mini Blossom (with the Metal Shim). After assembling, I popped up the images with foam tape. From the next photo, you can also see the bold “Happy Birthday” (top left) card created from this stamp set.
I hope you are inspired to use the Happy Birthday to You Stamp Set and I can't wait to see what you create!
