Hey!
Happy Friday! It's Aimes here today showing you fun ways to use the fabulous, brand-new From The Desk Of stamp set. As soon as this stamp set and the co-ordinating dies landed on my craft desk, I just knew it I was going to have a lot of fun playing with it!
Now this set is totally fitting for decorating correspondence and letters/envies. However, I wanted to stretch this set to create three different cards.
First up I combined the stamp set with the co-ordinating dies to create this card:
I simply arranged the stamped and die-cut elements onto a focal point and stamped a sentiment below it using Forest Glades, Coral Berry and Jet Black ink. Easy peasy!
Now you didn't think I was going to feature this stamp set and avoid that trendy arrow stamp, right? Don't tell the others, but I think its probably my favourite of the set! I've used it on my second card as the main focal point.
Trendy arrows deserve on-trend treatment, so I inked them up with both Coral Berry and Frosty Pink ink to create a two-tone, ombré effect. Easy, but effective!
I created a patterned card front by heat-embossing the hearts from the stamp sets over the card front, trying to stamp a closer pattern towards the bottom to embrace the ombre effect. Then I went a little ombré crazy and blending ink on top, making it dark at the bottom and light towards the top to complement the heat-embossed pattern.
My final cards moves from on-trend ombré to an more wonderful watercolour style on my most favourite Altenew Woodgrain White cardstock:
I simply decorated a die-cut heart (die-cut from a left over piece of previous project) with the sentiment and small cluster of leaves stamp. A few splashes of diluted ink add a little more interest to the design. :)
I stretch the trendy arrow to strike through the heart. To do this, I lightly marked where the heart would sit on the card front and drew a straight line through it to act as a guide. I then stamped the bottom section of the arrow and top section separately following the guide. Then it was a case of erasing the pencil marks and affixing the die-cut heart on top.
Phew! Well there you have it! Three different cards focusing on what I think is an awesome stamp set. :)
That's all from me today, but stay tuned as the winners from the Altenew May 2016 blog hop are due to be announced here later today.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a fabulous weekend!

This was the first set I put in my cart during release. This and the script alphabet set to work in conjunction. I cannot wait to get it in my hands….I’m so impatient!!! I ordered last week and it’s still ‘unfulfilled’. I want it yesterday…..laughing. Great cards!
Don’t tell the other stamp sets, Marci, but this set and the Calligraphy Alpha sets are my most favourite from this release! ;)
