Simply Organized winners are out!! Creativity Inspired 2021 Craft Room Makeover Contest Winners Announcement

by Altenew

Wow! We were so impressed by the response to our first-ever craft room organization contest. The members of our Altenew family blew us away with their ingenious organizational hacks and creativity. We absolutely loved seeing all of your crafting spaces.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this challenge. It was definitely difficult to choose our favorites, and your creativity doesn't make it any easier!

Ok, so without further ado, here are the craft room makeover contest winners.

First up are our top three winners who simply astounded us with their craft room organizational hacks and delightful crafting spaces.

1st Place: Photo Album Alphabetical System for Organizing Stamps

Our first place winner who will receive a $150 Altenew gift card is Ann.

Storage Tip: Each time I buy a stamp set, I snag a picture off of the web sight & print it. Then it is filed in Dollar Store photo albums alphabetically…I also have a photo album of all my stand-a-lone dies, and 1 for embossing folders.

I have one other special album. I have index cards in them with general headings on them. For instance, one says “Birthday” on it. When I get a set that contains a birthday sentiment in it, I write the name of the set on the index card. I have a card for “Get Well,” sympathy, Friendship, etc. That way I can quickly search for the stamp set name, and then I look in my alphabetical album and choose which set I want to use.

Ann's organizing system is next level amazing! We love how she depicted her crafting hacks in this scrapbook layout. Her crafting corner may just be a small section of her living room, but she really maximized the space by keeping her stamp sets, stencils, and dies in bins – all arranged alphabetically. The idea of indexing all the products and product categories in separate photo albums is simply brilliant. We all wish we could be as organized as she is!

2nd Place: Crafting Tools Instead of Pot Holders

Our second place winner who will receive a BRIGHT DAYS ARTISTS' WATERCOLOR BUNDLE ($60.98 value) is Jessica.

Wow! Jessica's hack will leave you wondering, “Why didn't I think of that?” In addition to using Storage Pouches for her stamps, she uses a pot holder organizer to store her bulky crafting tools so they don't take up too much space on her crafting table. What a great hack, Jessica!

3rd Place: Clutter-Free Craft Room

Our third place winner who will receive a CRAFT ROOM DECAL SET (MEDIUM) ($39.99 value) is Jodene.

I added drawers under my desk…to allow me to put everything I use frequently close at hand. The drawers  hold things like my trimmers, stamping tools, most used inks, adhesives, pre-cut card bases etc all within reaching distance, yet out of site when not being used so that my workspace can remain clutter free.

Jodene's craft room is the stuff of dreams! We loved seeing the before and after pictures of her craft room renovation, and we wish we could spend some time crafting in there with her. She offers some great tips to keep your craft room clutter-free, including her hack to store all her coloring mediums on a cart with wheels, which allows her to wheel it out of the way when not in use.

Thank you for sharing, Jodene!

Honorable Mentions:

Finally, 4 winners will each receive a $20 Altenew gift card.

Ink Pad Storage Hack

My hack was to take some of the shelves off my ink pad storage, and now I have 5 more spaces for more ink pads!

Eva's crafting space is so colorful and lively. We love seeing all the sweet little touches everywhere, and her ink storage hack sounds like a true life saver for those of us who have too many inks!

DVD Tower for Stamp Sets

Remember the catch phrase, “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle”? Julie took it to heart with this brilliant idea using old DVD covers. We may not use DVDs anymore, but we can still use those plastic containers to store our stamp sets!

DIY Stamp Drawer Handles

Next up is this beautiful craft room set-up that is very visually appealing. We love the creative DIY drawer handles which were made out of actual stamps!

Crafting Utility Cart

I love to keep my Altenew products in my raskog for the most part. I place the inks in the Tim Holtz mini ink trays. I keep my favorite dies and stamps hung on my raskog with s hooks so they are right at hand. I was so excited that I forgot to show you that I keep all of my Altenew markers in their original cases along with my Altenew watercolors and sprays in the 2nd drawer of my ikea drawer set.

Well, Mary's crafting cart just makes us want to start crafting right away! We love that she hangs her favorite stamps and dies on the side of the cart for quick and easy access when she crafts.

Wait, that's not all!

We have also selected 2 winners from Instagram and Facebook who will each receive a $15 Altenew gift certificate. Congratulations to Edorie who has a stunning DIY shelf made out of cardboard and KardKollections who uses refrigerator boxes to store her crafting supplies!

Congratulations, winners!

Congrats to the winners and a big fat thank you to everyone — this really inspired me. I am organizationally challenged. But it helped last year when I bought multiple sets of drawers and tabletops at Ikea. Those are really fabulous for storing crafts and I see them in several people’s rooms here
