Hello, everyone!
Svitlana is here. Today, I want to share a love-themed card with you which was quite simple to make, yet this design may wow any recipient.
When it comes to “wowing” a recipient, a dimensional sentiment made off the background is one of the first techniques that comes to my mind. I use this design element quite often in my cards, and it doesn't stop wowing me every time.
In the case of this card, I decided to add a “spotlight” twist to it, as well. Which may not be visible right away when you look at the card, but it's there :). I made the love word a tad lighter than the stamped design on the front panel, which makes it stand out a bit more.
I used the Ornamental Flower Stamp Set to create the floral stamped element. Which I stamped twice on two Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock panels – a darker and a lighter version. I used my mini MISTI to create two identical stamped designs. The panel with the darker stamping became the front panel and the lighter one was used to create the dimensional love word.
To stamp the darker design, I used the Cotton Candy, Coral Berry, Ruby Red, Velvet, Silver Stone, Industrial Diamond, Pure Graphite Crisp Dye Inks. For the lighter version Frosty Pink, Cotton Candy, Coral Berry, Ruby Red, Limestone, Silver Stone, Industrial Diamond Crisp Dye Inks were used.
To mask off the overlapping elements, I used Masking Paper (which is the best masking paper ever if you ask me).
As I mentioned above, I die cut the word love out of the lighter panel using a die from the Script Words Die Set. Additionally, I die cut the same die out of a Dark Gray Cardstock and stacked all die-cuts using Precision Glue Pen.
After that, I adhered the sentiment onto the darker panel alighting the stamped design. The panel in turn was foam-mounted onto a white card base and several clear dots finished off the card.
I used gray cardstock for the dimensional part of the sentiment for two reasons. Firstly, to add another gray element to the card in addition to the gray flower center. Secondly, to distinguish the sentiment from the background a bit more.
I hope you like the card I shared with you today.
Have a wonderful day!
