Shoot for the Moon with Calligraphy Alpha Dies

Hey guys, it's Jen here today!  I know you always see my cards on blog hop posts, but I thought I would pop in with a card inspiration post using one of our new die sets, Calligraphy Alpha Die Set:

calligraphy alpha die

If you love the versatility of our Calligraphy Alpha stamp set, then you will adore the Calligraphy Alpha dies.  This die set complements the stamp set, but was designed to be larger for scrapbook page titles and card sentiments!  (please note that if you stamp the letters, these dies will not cut out around them, since the dies are larger).

To create my card, I first created a background using an ink blender tool and the following ink colors: Coral Berry, Warm Sunshine, Ocean Waves, Desert Night, and Jet Black.  I added the colors to white cardstock first, then blended them together with black, being careful not to cover all of the color – I wanted bright spots to peek through.  I then splattered plain water all over my background, since our ink reacts with water.  Last, I splashed on some pearl watercolor to represent stars.

Next, I used our Rock Collection inks to stamp the moon image from To the Moon onto watercolor paper.  Each layer was inked up normally, then sprayed with some water before stamping.  This resulted in a gorgeous watercolor look!

To finish the card, I die cut the letters for the word “moon” twice – once in Jet Black cardstock, and then again in glitter paper.  I really love how this card came out!

I hope you give our Calligraphy Alpha dies a try!  They are currently sold out individually, but you can purchase them as a bundle with the Calligraphy Alpha stamp set.

Hope you have an amazing day!

S Jen

Gorgeous galaxy background! Love how you stamped/watercoloured the moon. The stacked sentiment die cut from black and then glitter paper was a great idea. I have the alphabet stamp set and didn’t think I needed the matching die until now. Love this card.
