September 2023 Stamps, Dies, Stencils, & More Release
Step into a world of boundless possibilities as you explore this glowing release of easy-to-use, versatile products! Inspired by all things that shine – both literally and figuratively – this collection of stamps, dies, hot foil plates, and more will add that special touch to your projects. Shining crystals, a dazzling diamond, an enchanted mirror, and other unique designs are sure to make your crafting projects bejeweled like never before!
Today, I'll share how I had so ‘mush' fun creating a whimsy background.
I must say I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how this turned out. I started by creating the images from the Mushroom Garden Stencil Set. I used a mix of colors for all of the images.
For the mushroom caps, I used Blush, Rouge, Crimson, Jade, and Eucalyptus Inks; for the stems, I used Pink Sand, Dusty Rose, and Toasted Mauve Inks; and for the leaves, I used Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades Inks.
I show which inks I use on each part in the video below. Once I had colored the images, I then replaced the stencils (1-3) into place over the inked images and inked over them using Embossing Ink and then heat set using Crystal Clear Embossing Powder. I did each stencil in turn before moving on to the next. For the 4th stencil, I changed it up a little bit- instead of the heat setting with Crystal Clear Embossing Powder, I heat set with Rose Gold Embossing Powder—the details look great in gold! And it ties in the hot foiled sentiment.
Once all the images were heat set, I added a dark background using Cloudy Sky, Nimbus, and Dark Night Inks. For the sentiments, I used Essential Sentiments Hot Foil Plate. These were foiled using Rose Gold Hot Foil Roll before being die-cut using the coordinating die.
