Heartwarming Cards: “Say It With Love” in Three Effective Ways

Card 1

The techniques used in the 1st card are Emboss Resist, Masking, Inlaid Die-Cutting, (Partial) Die-Cutting and Ink-Blending.

For this bold and bright butterfly card, I started with embossing the sentiment in Razzleberry Crisp Embossing Powder. After placing the Tranquil Wings Stencil over the embossed sentiment, I used the Altenew Ink-Blending Tool. For the pink shading, I used Pink Diamond, Baby Pink, and Fuchsia Mini Cube Inks. For the orange, I used Sunray, Sunkissed, and Orange Cream Mini Cube Inks.

Next, I die cut Garden Trellis Cover Die and trimmed off the center. This is such a great way to maximize the use of cover dies. For extra pops of colors, I added a few pieces of colored die-cut squares. Lastly, the Satin White Sequins were just the perfect embellishment.

Card 2

My 2nd card has a cool and rich, yet intense colors. I utilized the smaller roses and leaves from Rolled Roses Die Set.

Next, with the Watercolor Brush Markers, I applied a few colors onto Soothe and Smooth Watercolor Paper. I left the cut pieces intact by adding some washi tape to secure them.

The sentiment in the center really conveys the thoughtfulness behind this handmade card. With the same colors of the paper, I added some splatter and Satin White sequins.

Card 3

Lastly, the 3rd card is in more of a loose form. It was so relaxing to create cards like this. I encourage you to take your own creative license and just explore.

For this card, I first planned the placement of the focal point . With MISTI, I stamped the lovely Bergenia Builder Stamp Set in Sea Glass Crisp Dye Ink (any light color ink will do). Then, I applied Artist Watercolors 24 Pan Set over the lightly stamped image.

I stamped the entire image over the water-colored background. With the mini ink cubes, I can selectively stamp each area in various colors.

For the dramatic effect, I then cut up the white-embossed sentiment into strips and placed them over the Silver Metallic Thread and Satin White Sequins.
