Hello friends!
Svitlana is here today. Some days I like spending more time when making a card. But some days I need a quick card as don't have a lot of time on my hands. In cases like this I get out one of my recipes for quick cards. One of which is using washi tapes.
Altenew carries a lot of amazing washi tapes of different sizes and designs. I like using floral washi tapes to create floral clusters. In this case I used the Glitter Flurries Washi Tape to do this.
I applied the tape onto a Solar White Cardstock 80lb and cut out several elements out of it. This can look as a time consuming task, but it really is not. Especially if you compare it with stamping similar elements, which would include getting out several ink pads, doing stamping, die cutting them. And then cleaning stamps, placing them back into the packaging. Don't get me wrong – I love stamping and find cleaning after a good stamping session even therapeutic in a way. But if we talk about a quick card – cutting a couple of flowers out of a washi tape is definitely faster.
In case of this particular washi tape, which has foiled elements to it, we would need to use gold heat embossing to imitate the look. So some hand cutting of the washi tape element definitely makes up for all that work.
To create the background I used another washi tape – Gilded Ombre, which I adhered onto a white cardstock panel. The panel in turn was foam mounted onto a white card base.
When I was creating the floral cluster I adhered the back elements flat using a liquid adhesive and those located in front I popped up using adhesive foam squares.
The sentiment I made by die-cutting a word HUGS from the Script Words Die Set out of a white cardstock as well as the Gilded Ombre Washi Tape (which was adhered onto a white cardstock before that). Then I stacked both die cuts (the white die cut underneath) with a slight offset using a liquid adhesive.
The white die cut under the gilded ombre one created a small shadow and helped the sentiment not to blend with the floral cluster. The sentiment was foam mounted onto the card.
I hope you like the card I'm sharing today using this beautiful washi tapes.
Have a wonderful day!

Hi Svitlana, I always love your cards and this one is no exception! We all need a quick card at times and this one looks like it took a lot longer to create. Your secret is safe with me haha! The washi tape and design are both beautiful. Thank you for your inspiration! Happy 2021!
