Hello there everyone! Lydia here. Today, I'll be sharing a super shiny and quick card idea that uses hot foil “waste” as a background.
Quick Card Idea Using Excess Hot Foil
I started by hot foiling Sunburst Doily Hot Foil Plate twice onto a piece of Jet Black Cardstock using gold hot foil. I then colored the images using the Metallic Watercolor Pan Set in a rainbow fashion. To really make the colors pop, I left some of the images with no coloring to let the black cardstock show. Once the images were colored, I die-cut them using the coordinating die.
Next, I took the ‘waste' hot foil and added this onto some Double-Sided Adhesive Sheets, and then die cut these too. These were then added onto a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Jet Black Cardstock card base before adhering the painted die-cut images using foam tape. The sentiment is from Sentiments Strips 2 Stamp Set.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you try this quick card idea using your excess or “waste” hot foil!

Oh, WOW! Lydia, this is gorgeous. I just got this hot foil plate in the mail. I am going to go heat up my machine right now.
I’m going to make a 50th birthday shaker with your idea.
Such a beautiful card. I love what you did with the waste. I’ll get a hot foil machine for my birthday and I need all the tips I can get.
