Quick and Simple Rainbow Background for Your Handmade Card

by Laurie Willison

Hey there! It's Laurie here with a quick and simple card. Today I am using a little bit of blending for color and a big bloom for detail! This card showcases the stamp set called Statement Flowers which is the perfect name for this gorgeous bloom!

To create this card, I did a little ink blending on a white card base. First, I masked the edges off with 1/2″ washi tape and then blended Heart Beat, Snapdragon, Sunray, Bamboo, and Mountain Mist Crisp Dye Inks to create the perfect rainbow of color.

Next, I stamped the Statement Flower and die cut it out with its coordinating die. I popped the flower up with foam tape and then trimmed it down to fit the card front. I added some clear drops and a sentiment strip along the bottom to finish off the card.

So glad you stopped by today!  Hope you have a great day!

Laurie, This simply created card is lovely. Know I’ll be trying this rainbow background idea today as I work with my stamps and dies. I’m thinking of using this with my craft-a-flower lily die set. Thanks for the inspiration-stay well.

Beautiful card. Wish I could ink blend like that. Maybe when I grow up (I’m 72).
