Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today sharing some inspiration using a few of our newest 3D Embossing Folders from the June 2021 release! These embossing folders provide such a huge amount of impact on a card front with minimal amount of time and effort added to your cardmaking session. I've paired the gorgeous new Embossing Folders with some ephemera from the Wildflower collection and a few simple die-cuts to create a trio of cards, so let's get started with the details!
I knew that I wanted to use the Wildflower collection with the embossing folders, so I used the color scheme within the Wildflower collection as my starting point for gathering my supplies. I kept things simple with a pale pink, maroon, and white color scheme, allowing a few pops of deep, deep hunter green from the collection.
My first card is the simplest of the bunch, allowing the gorgeous Whimsical Bouquet Embossing Folder to be the star of the show. I simply embossed the breathtakingly detailed image on some deep maroon cardstock, and then lightly brushed some white pigment ink over the raised areas of the embossed cardstock using a small sponge dauber. This subtle addition of white ink helps to highlight the absolutely stunning detail in the new Whimsical Bouquet Embossing Folder.
To finish the project off, I kept things very simple with a Circled Greetings: Hugs die-cut, cut from white cardstock and adhered directly over the embossed area using liquid adhesive. A few iridescent white gems added some sparkle!
My second card features the Waffled Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder and the Pink Posy Ephemera set. I was, admittedly, in a bit of a rush creating these three cards… my kiddos just got done with first grade, and so my time in my craft room is being curtailed with all four of my little ones at home! The gorgeous ephemera from the Wildflower collection made these cards come together lickety-split. I first embossed a panel of white cardstock using the Waffled Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder. The super graphic, uniform feel of the Waffled Diamonds folder juxtaposes nicely with the feminine florals in the Wildflower collection.
I arranged a cluster of Pink Posy Ephemera on the bottom righthand side of the card front, adding the beaded circle die-cut behind with a bit of liquid glue and popping up the florals with Instant Dimension Foam Adhesive. I added a deep maroon die-cut Hello from the Simple Greetings Die set, and then finished it off with some more iridescent white gems.
My final card pairs the structured Brick Wall 3D Embossing Folder with the super flowy flowers from the Bitty Bits Ephemera pack and some berry die-cuts from the Branches and Berries Die Set! I love how the straight lines of the Brick Wall background enhance the loose, wavy lines of the flowers and berries. I embossed an A2 panel of pale pink cardstock using the Brick Wall 3D Embossing Folder, and then lightly blended some Coral Berry Crisp Dye Ink around the edges with one of the mini Ink Blending Tools to add a bit more depth to the background.
I added some flowers from the Bitty Bits Ephemera pack with liquid adhesive, as well as some berries from the Branches and Berries Die Set cut from some more maroon cardstock. I also die cut a white “you are loved” sentiment from the Slim Sentiments Die Set, and then adhered it to a strip of maroon cardstock, which I used as a ground for my florals to give them a place from which to sprout! The final touch was a few more iridescent gems for even more texture and sparkle.
Well, that's all for my projects today! If you haven't checked out the new 3D embossing folders, I highly encourage you to take a look… they are such a great, cost-effective way to add wonderful texture and interest to your backgrounds! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!
